PPANM's 58th Annual Convention was March 28-31, 2009 at the Route 66
Casino & Hotel. This year's convention was packed with educational programs from world class photographers, the annual print competition where the state's best compete for trophies, a packed trade show with industry vendors who are the top of their fields, fun social events and an unbelievable list of door prizes that were given away. T The convention kicked off with a Route 66 Shoot Out Saturday night with some great prizes for the winners.
Monday morning had an early bird program on close-up photography presented by New Mexico's own Robert Sonnen. Following was the first half of Hanson Fong's all day program "The Art and Magic of Posing & Lighting". The trade show and print exhibit opened from 11:00am to 3:00pm for its final day. Hanson Fong's program concluded in the afternoon with a demonstration of his posing techniques. After the membership meeting was the awards banquet and then the hospitality room wrapped up the night. PPANM's dynamic due - Phyllis & David Crossley - started Tuesday morning off with their earlybird program on "Photography, Psychology and Photoshop." Then attendees spent the rest of the day with a master of lighting - Tony Corbell. "The Power of Light" The door prizes this year were amazing! With over $18,000 in door prizes available, there were many who's value far exceeded the cost of convention registration.Slideshow of Joseph & Louise Simone's program at the March 2008 Convention:
