Thirty Photoshop Tips in Sixty Minutes

Dennis will present quick overviews of thirty noteworthy and current Photoshop tips, including the latest ideas from Imaging USA and SWPPA as well as from NAPP, the official Photoshop User Group.   Dennis will make himself available later in the conference for anyone wanting further elaboration regarding the examples.   The quick overviews will include “heavy metal effects using curves and masks”, “combining HDR and Panorama stitching”, “photorealistic versus fine art composite techniques”, “the newest approach for applying texture to your images”, and “using customized brushes for dramatizing eyes and eyelashes”.

Dennis grew up in an Eastman Kodak family in Rochester, New York and had his first medium format camera (a “hand me down” from his father) when he was seven.   He worked in the Dallas Processing Lab of Kodak while in college, gaining a view into some of life’s most private (as well as shocking) moments as shown on uncensored 35mm Kodachrome as it came off the processing line.  His father, as plant manager, developed the famous Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination, thereby becoming linked forever with conspiracy theories.

Dennis became a portrait photographer in 2000 and is a member of PPA, the Texas PPA, PPANM and NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals).  He has been an Adobe Certified Expert – Photoshop since 2001. While living in Dallas, his photography time was split between portraits and teaching Photoshop and Lightroom on a “one to one” basis.   His largest portrait client was a talent agency that specialized in celebrity “lookalikes”, where he would use his Photoshop experience to make the lookalikes look “even more alike”.     He moved to Corrales in 2008 and now splits his time between photography and music, playing guitar in Santa Fe, Corrales and Albuquerque for singer Nanette deVall.
