Preparation and Presentation Of Your prints for Competition

Tuesday Feb. 6, 2007 from 10:00am - 12:00pm

1. We will talk about the very important 12 Elements which are the bases the Judges use to score your prints such as Impact, Creativity, Print Quality, Composition etc.

2.We will discuss the importance of geographic compositions, Rule of thirds and beyond .

3. How to make a 76 into an 80 or even into a Loan print by applying some lost Elements.

4.In the exterior find the Merit spot or background than put the Merit subject to it.

5. You will see ordinary images that become Merit and Loan Collection by applying some of the 12 Elements.

6. What the judges do not like to see in your competition prints.

About the Instructor:

Jack Co-Owner of Avalos Fine Portraits Pueblo, Colorado, has more then 58 years experience in Family Group, Wedding and General Portrait Photography. Several formulized training sessions at PPA International School of Photography and West Coast School of Photography and consistent attendance at numerous seminars have made it possible for him to become a successful Photographer.

Jack 's work has been recognized with awards on State, Regional, National and International level. Numerous of his images have been accepted in PPA and Mexico's Loan Collection.

Jack appreciates Three National Awards one each from RMPPA, PPC and PPof Mexico. In 2000 PPA Board of Directors awarded him the Prestigious "Directors Award", at PPA's 2001 Award Ceremonies he was honored with the International Award for his dedication in helping International Photographers. In 2006 NMPPA honored him with the very first "Honorary Order of the Zia".

Jack is a PPA Certified Professional he holds the Master of Photography and Craftsman degree from PPA and has a Master and Master Instructor from PPof Mexico, He sits on PPof Mexico's Board of Directors.

Jack has given seminars on State, National and International level, In 1999 was invited to Madrid, Spain to set up the judging system according to PEC regulations he has since been invited three times to speak. He is in consistent attendance to serve as Jury Chairman and to give seminars to PPof Mexico.

Jack is a member and Past Chairman of PPA;s International Committee and serves as a PPA Certification Liaison for Colorado.
