The ABC's of Print Competition
Entering print competition can be one of the best ways to improve your skill as a photographer and artist.  Unfortunately, many people are afraid to enter because they don't know how it all works.  In this program, Larry will walk you through the entire process and teach you how to optimize the print competition experience.

Topics will include:
* Why enter competitions?
*  What are judges looking for?
*  Tricks of the Trade
*  The top 5 things that doom most entries
*  How to avoid the dreaded "79" (or worse!)

Optimizing the Home Studio - (Taking Mom and Pop To The Next Level!)
With more and more photographers moving to home studios, it is more important than ever to make sure we run businesses that set us apart from the competition.  To take your business to the next level, you must grow as both a business person AND as an artist.  Larry will explain ways to run an upscale business, without the upscale overhead.

Topics will include:
* Planning your studio/salesroom layout
* Shooting strategies
* Sales techniques for maximum sales
* Marketing your business
* Avoiding the mistakes that sink most studios

Plano artist, Larry Lourcey, holds the designation of Master Photographer awarded by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in 2007. He served as a juror in 2008 for several state conventions and has  been awarded numerous awards for his work.

 Several of Larry’s images have been selected for the prestigious PPA Loan Collection, including an image displayed at Imaging Asia in 2005.

While Lourcey is most recognized for his black and white photography, the breadth of his work includes vibrant photo paintings, Polaroid transfers, and photographic collages.  In addition to photography, Lourcey's recent work explores intaglio and relief  printmaking, which is informed by his photographic images.  Lourcey derives his inspiration from master painters like John Singer Sargent and Edgar Degas, while embracing the bold styles of more modern greats; such as Pino Daeni.
